I was walking down the street, (Caminaba calle abajo,)

I said «You’re such a sweet young thing (Dije “Eres una dulce joven)

She looked at me and this is what she said, (Ella me miró y esto es lo que dijo)

I got bills to pay, (Tengo facturas que pagar,)
I got mouths to feed, (Tengo bocas que alimentar,)

I know I can’t slow down, (Lo sé, no puedo relajarme)
I can’t hold back, (No me puedo entretener,)
Though you know, I wish I could. (Aunque ya sabes, ojalá pudiera.)

Not even fifteen minutes later (Apenas cincueta minutos después)
I’m still walking down the street, (Todavía caminaba calle abajo,)
When I saw a shadow of a man creep out of sight. (Cuando vi que la sombra de un hombre se arrastraba sin que lo notara.)
Then he walks up from behind (Entonces se acercó desde detrás)
And puts a gun up to my head, (Y me puso una pistola en lacabeza,)
He made it clear he wasn’t looking for a fight. (Dejó claro que no buscaba pelea.)

Now a couple hours passed (Ya habían pasado un par de horas)
